A cozy, teal-trimmed, knotty pine log cabin replete with porch and garden welcomes thousands of children each year to the Breckenridge Arts District, where it hosts workshops from watercolors to textiles, crafts to face painting. One of two cabins constructed by volunteers with the Red, White, and Blue Fire District and raffled off in 1952 off as a fundraiser, the cabin later served as Maureen Nicholls’ antique store—Quandary Antiques Cabin—until 2007 when she and her husband Jim donated it to the Arts District. Once located across the street from the post office, the cabin was lifted by crane and trucked by flatbed trailer to its current spot, where it serves as a sunny space housing art classes for toddlers to tweens.
